Conform with required building codes for panel R-value and installation

Determine appropriate panel thickness

for optimum cost/benefit and prevention of condensation on warm side of retrofit panel

challenging wall details might be resolved with the use of different retrofit panel thicknesses

Install panels using fasteners of the proper length and material specified by manufacturer

Seal all panel joints and seams

must be compatible with extruded polystyrene (EPS) if adhesive or sealant is in contact with EPS, or

low-expansion and low volatile organic compound (VOC) spray polyurethane foam may be used to seal gaps or voids, or

sealing mastic or panel sealant may be used to seal gaps and voids

Existing overhangs must adequately exceed new wall thickness to prevent moisture intrusion

All installed panels should be at least 8 inches above grade
