Dryer ducted to outdoors durably and effectively |
Interestingly, the IRC has switched the terminology here in the 2021 version (IRC M1502.4.5). They forbid "domestic booster fans", but allow for "domestic exhaust duct power ventilators" that meet UL 705. They also prescriptively limit the length of dryer duct to a maximum of 35 feet TOTAL length though they allow the dryer manufacturer's instructions to supersede this direction which opens the door for the "power ventilators" and longer duct runs. Therefore, we have removed the booster fan requirement and limited the duct length to 35' equivalent maximum. | Red Line | |
