On behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) NREL is seeking volunteers to serve on the Home Energy Professionals (HEP) Energy Auditor (EA)/Quality Control Inspector (QCI) Joint Scheme Committee.
This opportunity is open to single-family home performance professionals who have the experience and vision to help revise and maintain a national certification for the current energy efficiency workforce. Members will be asked to serve a five-year term (2022–2026).
If you are interested in being considered for this effort, please submit the application form by Friday, Oct. 15, 2021.
About the Scheme Committee
Since 2010, the DOE Weatherization Assistance Program and NREL have worked to develop foundational workforce resources through the HEP project to support a high-quality weatherization and home performance industry.
The EA/QCI Scheme Committee members will be comprised of novice to expert single-family home energy professionals. Members will be asked to review the job task analysis (JTA) and validation process, and potentially revise the existing EA and QCI JTA in alignment with the International Standards Organization and International Electrotechnical Commission 17024 standard for personnel certifications requirements.
Members will be responsible for maintaining the scheme components for five years in the continuing effort to ensure the scheme aligns with current industry-accepted practices specific to the EA and QCI job classification.
