Select a sealant that:

is compatible with intended surfaces,

allows for differential expansion and contraction between dissimilar materials,

meets the requirements of the applicable fire safety code (e.g. thermal or ignition barriers), and

for use inside the pressure boundary, select a low volatile organic compound (VOC) sealant that meets independent testing and verification protocols

Prepare the installation surface in accordance with manufacturer specifications

Install sealant in accordance with manufacturer specifications
